Bradwell with Pattiswick Neighbourhood Plan

At a meeting of Full Council on the 22nd July 2019 it was agreed that the Bradwell with Pattiswick Neighbourhood Plan should be “made” and become part of the development plan for Braintree District.

Making of The Plan...

A Neighbourhood Plan Area application was submitted to Braintree District Council by Bradwell with Pattiswick Parish Council for the parish of Bradwell with Pattiswick on 21st July 2016  under The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (2012) as amended:

The application was approved on the 14th September 2016. The decision was made on the basis that the applicant was Bradwell with Pattiswick Parish Council, who as parish Council are a relevant body, and the area applied for was the whole extent of Bradwell with Pattiswick Parish.

The Bradwell with Pattiswick Parish Council then continued work on a draft Neighbourhood Plan

Regulation 14 Consultation of the draft plan (undertaken by the Parish Council) took place between 5th April and 18th May 2018 and appropriate changes based on the responses were made.

Regulation 15 submission of the Plan by the Parish Council was received by Braintree District Council on 16th October 2018

Braintree District Council undertook a consultation of the draft plan known as a Regulation (Reg)16 Consultation between 5th November and 5pm on 17th December 2018. Four other documents were also included in the consultation.

Regulation 18: In December 2018 Braintree District Council - in consultation with Bradwell with Pattiswick Parish Council appointed Mr Tony Burton as independent examiner for the Bradwell with Pattiswick Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 18) examination.

The Neighbourhood Plan, supporting documents and all responses to the Regulation 16 Consultation were sent to the inspector on 18th December 2018

The Examiners Report - February 2019

The report was considered by Braintree District Council Cabinet meeting on 11th March 2019

Following an independent examination undertaken by written representations, Braintree District Council confirmed that the Bradwell with Pattiswick Neighbourhood Plan (The Plan) meets the basic conditions and other legislative requirements, and proceeded to a Neighbourhood Planning Referendum on 27th June 2019
