Historic England has a register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England they regard as worthy of protection.
Many of the parks and gardens are part of surviving, or demolished, large manor houses.
Being on the register does not convey any additional powers over development proposals affecting them. However, we will take the protection of their special character as a material consideration, when we consider any development proposals.
Historic England includes eight sites from our district on their register:
- Belchamp Hall
- Faulkbourne Hall
- Glenwood, Bradwell
- Gosfield Hall
- Hatfield Priory
- Saling Grove
- Saling Hall
- Terling Place
