Planning search facility for historic applications

You should be able to view documents for all applications submitted after approximately 1 January 1998. This includes a copy of the approved plans, supporting information, decision notice and S106 agreement (where relevant). Many applications submitted before this date will also have decision notices available on our online planning system.

Please note, if you are searching by application number, search using the format YY/NNNNN e.g. 12/01234.

Please note that for data protection reasons not all documents associated with a planning file may be made available to view via our online planning system.

If you cannot find the application or document that you need please contact the Planning Department with the details.

Viewing Historical Files

Application files submitted prior to 1st January 1998 are held on microfiche and can be viewed on request by contacting the Planning Department.  Please provide us with as much information as possible about your requirements and include the planning reference number where known.

Requesting Historic Decision Notices

Our website will show decision notices dating back to approximately 1988 which can be downloaded by searching against the application number, using the format YY/NNNNN.  For decision notices prior to this date, please contact us and we can email you them to you at no charge, providing you know the reference number.  If you don't know the application numbers, we will charge a research fee of £40 for the first hour and £25 per hour thereafter.  Alternatively, you are able to request a local search to be carried out by our Local Land Charges Service or you could visit our offices to carry out your own research.

If there are decision notices from 1988 to current day which do not appear on the website, please contact the Planning Department.
