  Council Tax: Single Person Discount Review

  We are required by law to review all Council Tax payers who receive a 25% single person discount. We have approximately 21,380 payers who benefit from this discount, and whilst the majority of these claims are genuine, it is essential that we ensure the discount is only awarded to those who are entitled.We will be writing to residents who receive Single Person Council Tax Discount asking them to verify that their single person discount remains applicable or to update their details.

  If you receive a form, please sign and return it as soon as possible in order for us to verify your discount. If you are still the sole adult resident in your property your discount will continue.

  Residents can return the form via post or email a photograph of the completed form to counciltax@braintree.gov.uk
