Self-Catering properties
Properties listed as self-catering in the non-domestic rating list must now comply with the new self-catering eligibility rules. The Valuation Office have requested relevant information from property owners via a questionnaire, and the responses have helped them determine whether the availability and actual lettings of these properties align with the new regulations.
If there is no evidence that a property meets the new criteria, then the property will be moved from the Business Rate property list to the Council Tax List. Since the legislation took effect on 1 April 2023, this will become the effective date.
