Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse is Any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality.  This can encompass but is not limited to the following types of abuse:

  • psychological
  • physical
  • sexual
  • financial
  • emotional

Who can help?

Essex Police - Specialist Police Officers from Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding Unit, will advise victims who wish to report an incident and they will offer support, including putting you in touch with other related services throughout the process.  01245 490840 or 24 hour non emergency 101.  In an emergency always call 999.
