Listed below are opportunities and support available to communities around the area.
The Rural Community Energy Fund
Administered by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme, the fund supports rural communities to develop renewable energy projects. The fund provides up to £150,000 of funding. Stage 1 is a grant up to £20,000 to pay for a feasibility study. Stage 2 provides an unsecured loan of up to £130,000 to support planning applications and develop a business case to attract further investment. Please see their website for further information.
The Essex Community Foundation
Essex Community Foundation awards grants to voluntary or community groups and other not for profit organisations. These organisations are charitable in purpose and are working for the benefit of people in Essex. They support core/revenue costs, new or continuing projects, one-off initiatives and capital costs and are particularly interested in small, grass roots organisations.
Grants of £250 to £10,000 are available which must be spent within one year.
