Proposed Extension to the Current Local Nature Reserve (LNR) Boundary

Braintree District Council is proposing to extend the current LNR boundary. This site (in part) was originally designated as a Local Nature Reserve in May 2008. An extension to the current LNR Boundary, which includes the woodlands and shelter belt located on the Marks Farm residential development and linked by the pathway, was submitted for consideration to Natural England.

The submission also includes hedgerows on the open space that were omitted from the original plan and Natural England has advised its agreement to both of the proposals.

The plan below (Figure 1) shows the current designation area (edged green and crosshatched green) and the proposed new areas (edged red and crosshatched red) to be included.
