Before you make a complaint

Before making a complaint contact the service involved for an informal discussion as they are best placed to understand and resolve your complaint.

If your complaint is regarding any of the below subjects you will need to contact Essex County Council.

Ways to make a complaint

Online form

You can complete our online form. The form will then be sent to the most appropriate service or department to deal with.

Email

You can email the customer service centre who will be able to forward your complaint on to the most appropriate service or department.

Letter

You can address your letter to the service or department you are complaining about. If you are unsure please feel free to phone the customer service centre who will be able to help you

Phone or in person

You can visit Causeway House or contact our customer service centre who will be able to direct you to the most appropriate service or department. However, it often helps to have complaints in a written format particularly if they are complex.

Via your local Councillor

 You can ask your Councillor to present your complaint on your behalf.
