Cressing Neighbourhood Plan - Adopted February 2020
At a meeting of Full Council on the 17th February 2020 it was agreed that the Cressing Neighbourhood Plan should be “made” and become part of the development plan for Braintree District.

Cressing Parish Council submitted to Braintree District Council an original application to designate a neighbourhood area in August 2013 area under S61g of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended). The application proposed that the neighbourhood area cover Cressing Parish. Braintree District Council approved the proposed neighbourhood area in accordance with regulations set out in The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (amended).
In August 2018 Braintree District Council received a request to continue to recognise the area as appropriate for the purposes of producing a neighbourhood plan in accordance with the act. The application still proposes that the neighbourhood area covers Cressing Parish.
In accordance with regulations set out in The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (amended), The Area Designation was approved under delegated powers on 14 September 2018.
Cressing Parish Council undertook a public consultation on the Draft Neighbourhood (Reg 14) Plan which ended on 30 September 2018
The Neighbourhood Plan was submitted under Regulation 15 to Braintree District Council on 22 January 2019.
Braintree District Council conducted a Regulation (Reg)16 Consultation between 9am on 31 May and 5pm on Monday 15 July 2019

Regulation 18 – In July 2019 Braintree District Council in consultation with Cressing Parish Council appointed the independent examiner Mr Tony Burton to examine the Cressing Neighbourhood Plan.

The Examiner's report on the Cressing Neighbourhood Development Plan was recieved in September 2019
The Council considered the report at Cabinet on 2 December 2019
Braintree District Council confirmed that the Cressing Neighbourhood Plan (The Plan) meets the basic conditions and other legislative requirements. The Plan proceeded to a Neighbourhood Planning Referendum on 6 February 2020.

Following an independent examination undertaken by written representations, Braintree District Council confirmed that the Cressing Neighbourhood Plan (The Plan) meets the basic conditions and other legislative requirements.
A referendum on the Cressing Neighbourhood Plan was held on 6th February 2020 - Declaration of Results
The result was presented to Braintree District Full Council 17 February 2020
