A Neighbourhood Area application was submitted to Braintree District Council by Stisted Parish Council for the parish of Stisted on 20th November 2017 under The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (2012) as amended:

Notice under Regulation 7 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012
The application was approved on the 15 December 2017. The decision was made on the basis that the applicant was Stisted Parish Council, who as parish Council are a relevant body, and the area applied for was the whole extent of Stisted Parish.
Stisted Delegated Decision 15 December 2017 (Regulation 7)
Stisted Parish Council undertook a (Regulation 14) Consultation of the Draft Neighbourhood Plan between Monday 22nd April and Friday 7th June 2024.
Stisted Parish Council submitted a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish (under Regulation 15) to Braintree District Council, along with supporting documents.
Regulation 16 Consultation
Braintree District Council held a consultation of the Stisted Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended) between 17th October and 5pm on Friday 19th December 2025.

Printed copies of the draft plan were also available to view at the following locations:
- Stisted Community Shop, Montefiore Institute, The Street, Stisted CM77 8AW. Mon & Fri 14:00-16:00, Wednesday 14:00-16:00 & 17:00-19:00, and Saturday 09:00-12:00
- Braintree District Council Offices, Causeway House, Bocking End CM7 9HB - during opening hours
