Feering Neighbourhood Plan - Adopted January 2023

At a meeting of Full Council on the 3rd January 2023 it was agreed that the Feering Neighbourhood Plan should be “made” and become part of the development plan for Braintree District.

Previously...

Braintree District Council received an application from Feering Parish Council to designate a neighbourhood area under S61g of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) In November 2014.  The application proposed that the neighbourhood area would cover Feering Parish.

In accordance with regulations set out in The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Braintree District Council consulted on the proposed neighbourhood area.

The Neighbourhood Plan application was agreed by Cabinet on 30th March 2015

Feering Parish Council undertook work on a Draft Neighbourhood Plan and Regulation 14 consultation was carried out between 17th February and 29th March 2020

Feering Parish Council submitted a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish (under Regulation 15) in July 2021 to Braintree District Council, along with 5 supporting documents.

Braintree District Council undertook a Regulation (Reg) 16 Consultation  between 2nd March and Thursday 14th April 2022 .  

Regulation 17 – In June 2022 Braintree District Council in consultation with Feeing Parish Council appointed the independent examiner Mr Tony Burton to examine the Feering Neighbourhood Plan.

The Examiners report on the Feering Neighbourhood Plan was received in August 2022.

Following the report, Braintree District Council confirmed by delegated decision that The Feering Neighbourhood Plan (The Plan) meets the basic conditions and other legislative requirements, and should proceed to a Neighbourhood Planning Referendum.

A referendum on the Feering Neighbourhood Plan was held on 27th October 2022. The referendum showed that 95% of those who voted were in favour of the plan.
