Local Plan Review

This is the timetable for reviewing the Local Plan. It has been updated as a result of the central government changes to the National Planning Policy Framework.  

Update October 2025: This timetable has been updated as further work is required on highway modelling for sites and a review of development sites before going out to the Preferred Options (Reg 18) consultation. This proposed revised timetable is due to be formally set out and approved in an updated Local Development Scheme, which will be discussed with members at a Local Plan Sub-Committee in due course.

• 1st October 2025 - 6:30pm (Large and strategic scale proposals (500+ homes) - Braintree and Central Area and other associated development - inc Black Notley, Bocking, Cressing, White Notley, Great Notley, Rayne).
• 6th October 2025 - 6.30pm (Large and strategic scale proposals (500+ homes) - Witham and Southern Area and other associated development - inc Bradwell, Coggeshall, Hatfield Peverel, Kelvedon, Rivenhall, Silver End).
