Call For Sites
As part of the Braintree District Local Plan Review, we undertook a Call for Sites between 10 April and Friday 24 May 2024. Developers, landowners, residents, businesses, parish councils and other stakeholders were invited to put forward suggested sites which might be suitable for many uses including housing, commercial, retail, health care, business, leisure, community facilities, open spaces, wildlife sites, biodiversity net gain or education in the District.
Sites received during this exercise are not automatically marked for development, nor do they gain any special status.
Every site is being assessed to determine whether it is suitable, available and achievable for development or designation within the updated Local Plan against the Strategic Land Availability Assessment Methodology.
With the extended timetable, we were able to accept late submissions until 16th October 2024. This allows time for the sites to be assessed. The additional sites will be added shortly.
As we go through the evaluation process, we will contact those who made submissions if we require further information.
You can register at any time to comment on consultations and receive alerts on future consultation launches of planning policy documents, including future Local Plan consultations.
