Local Plan Review Submission Draft - September 2026
Work is continuing on the Local Plan Review. Publication of the Submission Draft is the next stage - in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. It will take into account previous consultation feedback, and the evidence base documentation produced to support the production of the revised Local Plan.
The updated Draft Local Plan Review document will be considered for Regulation 19 publication by Council on 21st September 2026. If agreed, the Local Plan Review Submission Draft Plan will then be published.
At this stage, comments must focus on whether the plan has been prepared correctly, whether it is supported by appropriate evidence, and whether it meets the Government's tests of legal compliance and "soundness" set out in national planning policy.
Unlike earlier consultations, this is not a further opportunity to suggest changes or put forward new sites. Instead, comments should explain whether you believe the plan:
- has been prepared in line with legal requirements
- is supported by a robust evidence base
- is justified and deliverable
- meets the Government's tests of soundness set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)2024
Representations from this stage will be submitted with the Regulation 19 Plan for consideration by a Government appointed independent Planning Inspector.
