Ending a tenancy and getting help

This page explains how a tenancy can be ended correctly and what notice is required. It also signposts where to get help and advice if something goes wrong or you are unsure about your rights.

  • Ending your tenancy

You can usually end your tenancy by giving at least two months’ written notice to your landlord. Shorter notice can only be used if both you and your landlord agree in writing.
