Housing strategy
Braintree District Council has worked in partnership to develop the Healthy Housing Strategy. This strategy guides our approach to housing over the next 5 years. Supporting the current and future housing offer and needs for those choosing to live in the Braintree district and a route map to tackling the challenges we face.
Consultation
The consultation ran from 13 December until 5pm on 7 February 2023.
Few things are more important than a home, so the way the council approaches housing is critically important to everyone in the Braintree district. We needed your help to get that right. Please see the infographic that reveals the headline results of the consultation.
The Strategy
The aim of the Healthy Housing Strategy is to promote homes that enhance resident’s health and well-being by working with our partners in health, housing, communities, economics and environment.
The evidence led document has been produced to inform the strategic decision making for the Healthy Housing Strategy under three themes:
1 Facilitate a consistent programme of high quality, affordable homes which best meet the needs of the current and future residents
2 Support communities and enabling housing across the district to meet the needs of all our residents, especially those who are vulnerable
3 Improve access to and the quality of the Private Rented Sector and the existing properties
