What to do with your waste

Recycle

You can recycle much of your waste. It is quick and easy to sort it out and put it in the right bins or sack.

Clear sacks

You can use your clear sacks to recycle:

  • paper
  • cardboard
  • plastic bottles, tubs and trays
  • plastic packaging
  • tins, cans and clean foil

We collect clear sack recycling fortnightly from your kerbside, or weekly at communal bins.

Kerbside food bins

We collect food waste weekly from your kerbside food bin.

Garden waste

We run a fortnightly subscription based garden waste collection throughout the spring, summer and autumn.

Other waste

Glass bottles and jars can also be taken to your nearest recycling centre or recycling banks

We have recycling banks for textiles and shoes across the district.

Bulky waste

If you're having a clear out of bulky items such as furniture or white goods, you can use our bulky waste service to help you recycle.

You can find full details of our reasonably priced service on our bulky waste pages.

You can find all the available options to give bulky items a second life, on the Love Essex website.

Alternatively, you can recycle many items of household waste at your nearest Recycling Centre free of charge. There are two sites within our district. One at Springwood Drive in Braintree and the other at Perry Road in Witham.
