What can go in your paper and card bin
Please recycle clean paper and cardboard, including:
- Paper and newspapers
- Cardboard
- Junk mail
- Magazines
- Wrapping paper
- Greetings cards
- Shredded paper - ideally in a paper or card container, such as an envelope or cereal box
Important:
- Keep all paper and card clean and dry
- Place items loose (not inside bags)
What can't go in your paper and card bin
- Sacks
- Wet or damp paper
- greasy or food-stained cardboard
- Kitchen roll, tissues or paper towels
- Shiny, foil or glittery paper or cards
- Plastic film, wrapping or sleeves
- Padded envelopes
- Paper with plastic on it
Please removed plastic windows from envelopes and put these into your Mixed Recycling. Cardboard only folders can be recycled in your Paper and Card. If a folder has any type of metal in it then it can be recycled in the metal container at any Essex Recycling Centre (including ring binders). Hard plastic only folders can be placed in the rigid plastic container at any Essex Recycling Centre. You can recycle shredded paper in your Paper and Card, ideally in a paper or card container, such as an envelope or cardboard cereal box.
