We are not running any food safety training at the moment due to Covid-19 restrictions.
We offer a level 2 award in food safety in catering.
This is six-hour course over one day. At the end of the day, there will be a multiple-choice paper with 30 questions about what you have learned.
Course details
The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering covers:
- prevention of food poisoning
- allergen contamination
- bacteriology
- personal hygiene
- cleaning
- pest control and food safety management systems
The price of the course is £60.00
The courses start at 9:30am and end at 4:00pm.
What you need to know
When you turn up for your course you will need to bring your driving licence or passport to prove who you are.
If you need to cancel your course you need to tell us a minimum of eight days in advance. We cannot give you a refund if you give us less than eight days notice.
We run the courses at our office in Causeway House. There is no public parking at Causeway House, but there are a number of Braintree car parks nearby.
Handling food properly
The food hygiene regulations require all food handlers to be trained.
This means that if you own a food business, you are required to make sure all staff are trained.
If food is not handled properly it could result in:
- food poisoning
- severe illness
- potential death
- loss of money
- legal action
