Burial options

Our cemeteries offer a variety of burial options.

Each cemetery has different sections for different religious denominations. All our cemeteries have Church of England, Roman Catholic and unconsecrated sections. Our Bocking Cemetery also has a section devoted to Muslim burials.

Braintree Cemetery offers a Lawn Section as well as full kerbed memorial sections. We have designated the Lawn Section for headstones and small kerbing memorials only. All other full burial sections within the cemeteries allow headstones and fully kerbed memorials.

Our full burial sections are suitable for baby, infant and children’s burials.

We also have Garden of Rest areas in the cemeteries set aside for the interment of Cremated Remains. These graves can hold up to four sets of remains and allow a small upright memorial and small kerbed area. You can find full details on our memorials page.

You can look at our fees for internments, exclusive rights of burial, memorials and grave maintenance.

Grave depths

A single depth grave is 137cm (4 feet 6 inches)

A double depth grave is 183cm (6 feet) which allows for 2 burials.
