About the Self-build and custom house-building register
The Self-build and Custom House-building Act 2015 (c 17) (“the Act”) requires us to keep a register of individuals and associations of individuals who are seeking to acquire serviced plots of land in the administrative boundary of Braintree.
We keep a register of people who want serviced plots of land in their area to build homes on.
We supplement the data from the registers with secondary data sources.

- Enquiries for building plots from local estate agents
By using multiple data sources we get a detailed view of the demand for this type of housing.
