Our Duty Planning Officer is available to deal with telephone inquiries between 09:30 am and 11:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday. Please call the Duty Planning Officer on 01376 557705.
Before you call
Before you call our Duty Planning Officer, you should check the Planning Portal for general planning advice.
The Planning Portal has:
- advice on the types of work you can do under permitted development
- interactive guides to help you explore how to progress common householder projects
- advice on planning fees and costs
You should also check prior to calling whether your property has permitted development rights.

- discuss the technical merits of applications, refusals, or appeals
- agree to any minor amendments to planning permissions
- discuss any planning enforcement enquiries or issues. You will need to speak to the enforcement team
- discharge any planning conditions on a decision notice
- advise whether your property has permitted development rights. You can find out what permitted development rights your property has. We aim to respond to your enquiry within 21 working days
