Household waste and recycling centres
The main household waste and recycling centres in our district are at:
- Springwood Drive, Braintree CM7 2YN
- Perry Road, Witham CM8 3YZ
These are managed by Essex County Council.
From Monday 13 March 2023, residents will have to book a slot in advance to visit any recycling centre in Essex. The booking system will open two weeks in advance, on Monday 27 February. Bookings will close one day in advance to allow for detailed lists to be provided to the sites and administrative teams.
Book a slot at the recycling centre
The booking system aims to help manage waiting times, reduce offsite queues and reduce misuse of the sites by commercial vehicles. This is an extension of a trial that Essex County Council was running at its Rayleigh site. It will be evaluated in late 2023. You can read more about the changes on the Love Essex website.
