Recycling banks
Glass recycling banks
We provide local recycling banks for glass bottles and jars.
Good to know: it’s even easier to recycle your glass, as you can now put any coloured glass bottles/jars into any glass recycling bin and we do the sorting for you!
You should leave tops on bottles and jars as the processing plant will recycle these together with glass in the same facility.
Do not bring kitchenware, Pyrex and glasses to the recycling bank as the processing plant cannot recycle these.
Some sites also have recycling banks for:
- textiles
- shoes
- paper
- plastic bottles
- cans
If the glass bring bank is full, you should not leave your recycling on the ground. Instead, you should take it home until your next visit.
You can find your nearest recycling bank on the Recycle Now website.
Clothing and textile recycling banks
We are working in partnership with local recycling company Essex Textiles.
New textile recycling bins have been located at some of our bring bank sites.
These items include:
- old clothes
- curtains
- bedding (except pillows & quilts)
- towels
- handbags
- hats
- cloths
- belts
- paired shoes
