Free parking for NHS and critical key workers in Council owned car parks
In the face of this global pandemic, it’s essential that NHS staff and critical key workers are able to carry out their vital work without worrying about paying for car parking.Published: Monday, 6th April 2020
Braintree District Council is working in partnership with the North Essex Parking Partnership (NEPP), to issue digital permits that will allow NHS and critical key workers to park in its Pay & Display car parks free of charge. Permits will be valid until 30 September 2020 and will be reviewed regularly taking into consideration any national guidance.
Councillor Wendy Schmitt, Cabinet Member for Environment and Place said, “We want to do all we can to support the national effort to tackle Coronavirus. Offering free parking for these important front line workers means they have one less thing to worry about whilst they are working long hours in these difficult times.”
Any NHS staff and critical key workers may apply for this permit. For more details and to find out how to apply, please visit the NEPP website: www1.parkingpartnership.org/north/coronavirusnhs
