New email service where residents will be able to receive the information that really matters to them

Residents and businesses in the Braintree District have been signing up for a new email update on topics of their choice.

Over 1,700 subscriptions have been received for refuse recycling or street cleaning updates, planning news, health and well-being tips and events, job vacancies or event emergency alerts.

The Council will also be offering a business email newsletter specifically for all the district’s business people.

“The fact that people will be able to choose what information they would like to receive is at the heart of this new email service called ‘Tell me more’,” explains Cllr John McKee, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Asset Management “It is a departure for us because although we have our eContact eNewsletter which has been running for six years reaching more than 11,000 people every other month, we wanted to give our residents more say in the content we send them. We hope the updates will help our residents and business stay informed and signpost them to the growing range of services and information that are available online.”

“This is another example of how we are working to use technology to improve the service we offer to our residents.”
