Braintree District Council has released the dates of its upcoming monthly street markets which are due to begin from March 25.

The popular street market events feature street food, drinks, gifts, homeware and more and run on the last Saturday of every month.

Braintree District Council is encouraging residents to visit the market and support not only the stall holders but also our range of independent businesses around the town.

The street market traders will set up alongside the existing weekly market stalls, bringing a complete range of options for shoppers.

Traders can apply for a pitch via the Council website at https://www.braintree.gov.uk/braintree-district/trade-market/2 or email streetmarket@braintree.gov.uk for further information.

Braintree District Council offers pop-up stalls at their monthly Braintree Street Market to help start-ups bring their products to a new audience. The small market stalls are available to hire, with starting rates of just £11 per event. This means talented crafters, home bakers and new sellers can test the market, see how their products sell and manage their price points without having to invest in a gazebo.

Cllr Tom Cunningham, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, said: “We are so pleased to welcome back the street market for another year and host both new and existing traders. They’re a highlight for our residents and a great way of getting people into the town to support local businesses.

“If you run a business and have been considering a stall at one of our street markets, I would really encourage you to give it a go.”

The dates of the upcoming street markets are:

  • 25 March
  • 29 April
  • 27 May
  • 24 June
  • 29 July
  • 26 August
  • 30 September
