To apply for a Temporary event notice, you will need to:

You can also download and print the application form from GOV.UK. If you decide to download and print your application, you will need to:

  • send a copy to our Licensing team by post or in person. We do not accept emailed applications
  • send a copy to our Environmental health Manager by post or in person. We do not accept emailed applications
  • send a copy of it to Essex Police

If you upload your completed application form on GOV.UK, we will send your application to our Environmental Health Manager and Essex Police.

If you send your application by post, you should get proof of posting. If you deliver it in person, you should ask us for a reciept.

Timescales

You must submit your temporary event notice 10 working days before an event.

If you apply for a late Temporary Event Notice, you will need to submit your application:

  • no later than five working days before the start of your event
  • no earlier than nine working days before the start of your event

Working days do not include:

  • the day we receive the notice
  • the day the event starts
  • weekends
  • bank holidays
