Garden waste subscription – Paying online by card

A Garden waste subscription service provided by Braintree District Council for the collection of garden waste from households in the Braintree District on a two weekly basis.

This is a paid for service, payable by annual subscription that runs from the 1st April to 31st March each year.

The amount payable for the year 2025/2026 is £55 payable in one instalment before the service starts.

Where the annual subscription is paid online by debit or credit card your subscription will automatically renew each year 28 days prior of the 31st March.

The price may increase annually, and subscribers will be notified of any potential price increase in advance of renewal.

You will receive 2 reminders via your chosen method of contact eight weeks and four weeks before renewal.

You can cancel your renewal of the subscription at any time up to 28 days before the start of the next subscription period.

If you cancel your subscription within 14 days of making the payment on your initial subscription or 14 days of the renewal payment being taken, you will receive a full refund.

Due to the cooling off period, you will not receive a garden waste collection for 14 days after payment has been made. If you present a bin/sack within the first 14 days and a collection takes place, you have confirmed that you waiver your right to cancel the subscription.

Cancel auto-renewal

If you would like to opt out, you can do so after you have made your payment by going to the “My subscriptions” tab within Waste Portal and selecting “Cancel auto-renewal”.
