Residents parking

We use controlled zones in parts of our district to make sure residents can park conveniently for where they live.

We work with the North Essex Parking partnership to manage our residents parking.

Residents permit

You can apply for a residents parking permit online

Apply for a parking permit

To apply for a parking permit you will need:

• your name, address and contact details
• your phone number
• your email address
• your Council Tax number
• your vehicle registration number

Residents permit prices

You pay for your resident permit annually:

• the first permit costs £62.00 per annum
• the second permit costs £100.00 per annum

You can apply for a Concessionary permit if you receive the higher mobility component of Disability Living Allowance. You can contact the North Essex Parking Partnership on 01206 282316 for further information.

Eligibility

Any resident who lives at an address in a controlled zone can apply for a residents parking permit.

You cannot apply for a residents parking permit if you home is:

• a holiday home
• a second home
• not occupied

Using your permit

Your permit allows you to park in any available space in the controlled zone that your permit covers.

A permit does not allow you to:

• park where there are waiting restrictions  such as single or double yellow line
• to exceed time limits for parking

Renewing your permit

The North Essex Partnership will send you a renewal notice around three weeks before your permit runs out. You should renew your permit as soon as possible so that you can get your new one in time.

Visitor permits

You can buy a visitors permit to allow your guests to park in zone controlled areas. You can apply for visitors permits online.

Visitors permit prices

You can buy visitors permits for different lengths of stay:

• £14.00 for 10 stays of 24 hours
• £7.00 for ten stays of 6 hours
• £34.00 for a carers permit
• £250 for an annual Traders Permit - £250.00
