Rural Prosperity Fund

Grant Funding for Rural Businesses and Community

Braintree District Council has been awarded £176,724 from the Rural Prosperity Fund to support capital projects that boost the rural economy.

The rural fund provides capital funding to:

  • support new and existing rural businesses to develop new products and facilities that will be of wider benefit to the local economy.
  • support new and improved community infrastructure, providing essential community services and assets for local people and businesses to benefit the local economy.

  • For businesses

    Capital grants of between £2,500 and £20,000 will be available, although match funding from the businesses of at least 50% of eligible costs will be required. Payment will be made in arrears. Available to micro and small sized businesses to enable them to grow and develop; this could include undertaking innovation, adopting new to the firm tech or processes and purchasing equipment.

    The project must be located within the rural areas of Braintree as defined by DEFRA.
