What was the Regulation 18 consultation about?
The Regulation 18 draft Local Plan consultation was the second public consultation in the Local Plan Review process setting out the preferred option for the future of the Braintree district and policies that will guide development over the next 15 years.
This consultation was a chance to tell us whether the draft document is sound and whether the priorities, policies and proposals reflect what matters most to you and your community.
Regulation 18 is the stage where the Council is still shaping the plan. New site submissions which were submitted at this stage will be assessed before the Council confirms its allocations for the Regulation 19 draft plan.
The consultation ran from Tuesday 3 March to 5pm on Friday 17 April 2026.
What difference will my comments make?
Your feedback matters. All comments are being reviewed and used to improve the plan before the next round of consultation in Summer 2026. A consultation statement will be produced which summarises comments received and how they have been taken on board in the Local Plan.
