Braintree District Council is inviting residents, park users and local stakeholders to share their views on proposals to install two new outdoor table tennis facilities at Sauls Bridge Sports Ground,
The sum of £54,000 for the project has been secured through a Section 106 contribution linked to the development of the land south of Rickstones Road in Rivenhall. Under the terms of the agreement, the funding must be used for sports improvements at Sauls Bridge Sports Ground and specifically references the provision of table tennis facilities.
The council is seeking feedback on the proposed facility, including whether the suggested location within the sports ground is the most suitable for its installation.
Alongside the table tennis tables, the council is also proposing the installation of smart lockers, providing convenient storage for table tennis bats and balls to help make the facility accessible and easy to use.
Residents are encouraged to complete a short survey and help shape the future of this community sports facility. Feedback gathered through the consultation will be reviewed and the council will share the results once the engagement period has closed.

Thanks to this Section 106 funding, we have the opportunity to introduce a new facility at Sauls Bridge Sports Ground, and it is important that local people help shape the final plans. The consultation opens on Monday 28 September and runs for three weeks until 5pm, Friday 16 October 2026.
