Please note that our work experience scheme is now full for this academic year and we are therefore unable to accommodate any further requests at the current time. The scheme will re-open in September 2024.

We recognise that work experience

  • plays an important role in career development
  • contributes to the economic prosperity of our district
  • promotes social inclusion

We will consider carefully all requests for work experience from any age group based on:

  • the skills and interests of the individual
  • our ability to provide useful placements with appropriate levels of supervision

We may not be able to agree to all requests for work experience depending on the number of applications we receive.

  • ICT (including digital services)
  • Housing

  • Marketing and Communications including Print and Graphics
  • Operations (waste services, street cleansing, horticulture)
  • Braintree Town Hall and Events Team

To apply for a work experience placement email our Human Resources team with:

  • a copy of your CV
  • a short supporting statement with details of the service areas you are interested in
  • the dates you are looking to be on your work experience
  • any further information that supports your application
