Traditional market

Braintree and Witham are two historic market towns, both with traditional style markets every week set in the heart of the town centres. We’re always looking for enthusiastic traders to join our markets community, either on a Wednesday or Saturday, or both. You’ll be surrounded by local heritage, shops and churches, and also is a chance to build networks and partnerships with the business community, including residents and visitors.

Parking for traders

As a trader at one of the markets located in Braintree you can park in the below car parks:

We offer a trader tariff for parking of £1.50 all day – to get this you press a button on the machine to be given the tariff. You will need a permit to use the £1.50 tariff, the permit can be collected on your first market day, sent by post or collected from the Council office prior to market day.

Please note: You cannot park in Manor St carpark. Manor Street and Victoria Street car parks look like one car park but they are separate. To ensure you are in the Victoria St carpark and not Manor St make sure you access it from Victoria Street.
