The Planning Inspectorate received an appeal against a planning application submitted relating to a site at Land south of Gilda Terrace and North of Flitch Way, Braintree.

The appeal is for a residential development of up to 120 dwellings, with all matters reserved except access. Acorn Braintree Ltd made the appeal under Section 78(2)(a) of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990.

The Secretary of State appointed a Planning Inspector to deal with the Inquiry. The Planning Inspector ran the inquiry in the normal way, but due to Coronavirus, it was held as a virtual event.

Appeal decision

The Inspector allowed the appeal and outline planning permission is granted for residential development (C3) for up to 120 dwellings, with all matters reserved except access, and the demolition of nos. 27 and 29 Gilda Terrace at land south of Gilda Terrace and north of Flitch Way, Rayne Road, Braintree, Essex CM77 6RE.

This is in accordance with the terms of the application Ref 18/01065/OUT, dated 12 June 2018. The decision is subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule attached to the full decision document.
