Chairman’s Community Showcase returns for 2026

The Chairman of Braintree District Council, Cllr Justin Wrench, will be hosting a Community Showcase following the success of last year’s event.

The Chairman of Braintree District Council, Cllr Justin Wrench, will be hosting a Community Showcase following the success of last year’s event.

The Community Showcase will feature local organisations and community groups the Chairman has met throughout the year who will be exhibiting and sharing their services with attendees.

The event will take place at The Institute Braintree on Thursday 2 April from 10am to 2pm. The event is free to attend and no registration is necessary.

Refreshments will be provided at the event, along with a range of prizes available in the Chairman’s Charity Tombola.

Among the Chairman’s guests will be ex-police dog Baloo, who won the Crufts Hero Dog Award in 2025 who attendees can meet on the day.

Cllr Justin Wrench, Chairman of Braintree District Council, said: “I look forward to celebrating the fantastic work that local organisations and community groups provide. I have thoroughly enjoyed my year as Chairman and this is the perfect way to round it off!”

There will be free parking available on the top floor of George Yard Multi Storey Car Park during the event.
