Braintree town centre will play host to a day of Christmas festivities on Saturday 22 November with multiple Christmas events taking place on the same day.

Braintree District Council’s Christmas Street Market will be taking place across Bank Street and along the high street and Great Square from 9am to 5pm with a mix of traditional traders and street market traders with handmade items and crafts offering unique gifts. There will also be plenty of food stalls available as well as bar for visitors to enjoy refreshments.
George Yard Shopping Centre will be hosting their Artisan Market with Braintree Hobby Hub with more stalls to explore as well as entertainment throughout the day and their Christmas light switch on.
Across the same weekend, there will be the Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens Christmas Market running on 21, 22 and 23 November from 4pm to 9pm with free entry. They will also host a bookable Santa’s Grotto at £5.50 per child from 4pm to 8pm each day.
The White Hart Hotel will be hosting a Christmas Market from 1-8pm in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Cllr Frankie Ricci, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth at Braintree District Council, said: “With lots of Christmas events taking place in Braintree town centre on Saturday 22 November, it’s a great opportunity for people to visit and support local businesses and shop local for Christmas.”
Braintree District Council will be hosting additional Christmas markets on Saturday 29 November and Saturday 20 December.
