Nominations close for the Braintree District Volunteer and Active Braintree Awards on Friday 12 September 2025 at 5pm

Nominations are welcome across all sectors including arts, sports, community and culture across twelve award categories including Long Service, Outstanding New Volunteer, Sports Personality and Sports Coach of the Year.

The winners from the volunteering categories will go forward for the Volunteer of the Year award and specific categories in the sports and physical activities will automatically go through to the Active Essex Sports Awards

The awards are being sponsored by Braintree Village and will be taking place Alec Hunter Academy on the evening of Wednesday 29 October.

Cllr Lynette Bowers-Flint, Cabinet Member for Housing, Health & Wellbeing, said: “We’ve had some great nominations so far but there is still time to make your nomination for a volunteering, wellness or sporting hero. These awards are a great opportunity to highlight the people that make a difference in our community.”
