A job fair organised by Braintree District Council and the Department of Work and Pensions saw 350 people attend last week (Tuesday 11 March).
The event was held at the Braintree District Council offices at Causeway House and included employers from the British Navy, Essex Police, Ryan Air, Maycast Noakes and Flightworx as well as training bodies such as Colchester Institute, ACL Essex and Teacher Training.
The job fair follows previous successful job fairs in Halstead and Witham. Over 500 people attended these job fairs in 2024-25.
Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Cllr Frankie Ricci, said: “These events provide an opportunity for our residents to find out about local jobs, upskill and/or change career. There are so many exciting businesses in our area and events like this help to connect local employers with the community.”
In their Annual Plan for 2025-26, the council has committed to delivering more across the district for residents to connect with employers and explore new career opportunities.
