There are just two weeks left to nominate volunteer and sporting heroes for the Braintree District Volunteer and Active Braintree Awards, organised by Braintree District Council and Active Braintree Foundation.
The awards, sponsored by Braintree Village, provide an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the work done by those who give their time to help their communities become better, healthier places to live, work and play.
Nominations are accepted across all sectors including arts, sports, community and culture across ten categories.
The categories are:
- Long Service
- Inspirational Role Model
- Going the Extra Mile
- Volunteer Group
- Outstanding New Volunteer
- Health & Wellbeing Award
- Sports Personality of the Year (Adult and Young Person)
- Sports or Physical Activity Club of the Year
- Sports Coach of the Year
Nominations are open until 13 September at 5pm and those shortlisted will be contacted around two weeks before the awards ceremony on Wednesday 30 October 2024, which will be taking place at Maltings Academy in Witham.
