Consultation reveals support for Halstead Town Centre proposals
A report published by Braintree District Council following a public consultation has revealed local support for Halstead Town Centre proposalsPublished: Wednesday, 30th September 2015
The four month consultation received 1,995 responses and shows that there is a majority of local support for all of the proposals put forward. However, it also shows where local support is not universal and gives the council helpful insight to where changes could be made.
The council will work closely with the community following this report to refine the proposals in the light of the public feedback.
Cllr Tom Cunningham, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “We want to improve Halstead town centre so that it continues to be an attractive place to shop and spend time however we’re committed to working with residents to make sure their ideas are reflected. It is very important to us that the plans are backed by the community.”
