Decision: The Cabinet member approves the amended funding proposals for Braintree District Council (the Council) to fund and deliver the Innovation Centre as part of the I-Construct programme, following the withdrawal of Essex County Council's (ECC) capital design grant contribution of £250,000The Cabinet member affirms the continued participation of the Council in the project and the implementation approach outlined in the Cabinet reports
Reason for decision: Following confirmation that ECC has withdrawn funding of £250,000, it has been necessary to revise the scheme finances, to ensure outputs are maintained and the capital project can be delivered. There is no requirement for further investment from the Council and the proposals remain within the authorised budget
Summary of alternative options: Withdrawal of the Council's participation in the project Scheme funding remains un-amended with the Council providing a further £250,000 of gap funding in lieu of ECC's withdrawn grant
