That the Council purchases the freehold interest in recreational land to the east of Courtauld Road, Braintree and simultaneously completes a surrender the unexpired lease granted to Braintree College for offices at 1 Freebournes Court, Witham
Reason for decision
The college are relocating as they are only sing 30% of the premises. This transaction provides a cost effect way to source land for potential improved sports facilities n the district
Summary of alternative options

To approve the provisionally agreed transaction on the reported terms to decline the request to surrender the lease, receive the full rent for the final year, but pay market value to purchase the freehold interest
