Why we collect your data
We will protect and respect your privacy.
This privacy notice covers the information we need to
prepare the Local Plan and other planning policy related documents.

We have created this notice to clarify how we:

We have measures in place to protect your privacy throughout this process.

We are the Data Controller for the personal information you provide.

We hold and process all personal information in line with data protection legislation.

Purpose for processing
We process your information where you have asked us to
send you notifications about public consultations on our Local Plan
send you notifications bout public consultations other planning policy

We hold these consultations so you can have your say on future development in the district.

We have a statutory duty under Town and Country Planning Act to carry out consultations. We hold these in line with our Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).

We keep a register of individuals and groups interested:
land within the district for custom build
land within the district for self-build

We use the records as evidence to inform the preparation of:
our Local Plan
other planning policy related documents
Lawful basis for processing personal data
We process your data on a lawful basis.

We process your data to perform a public task.

We need the information you provide to meet our statutory duty to
prepare our Local Plan
to help us produce neighbourhood plans

We process your data where you have given us your explicit consent.
Providing accurate information
It is important that we hold accurate and up to date information about you. This helps us assess your needs and deliver appropriate services.

You must tell us immediately if any of your details change so that we can update your records.

It is an offence to:
give false statements
withhold information
fail to disclose changes in circumstances

We will not:
make any decisions about you based on automated processing
send your data abroad
store your data abroad
Sharing information
We may need to share your personal information with:
other departments within the Council
other local authorities
the Planning Inspectorate for examination of the Local Plan
neighbourhood plan examiners and their agents

We make all responses to consultations public. We will publish your name alongside any comments you make.

We will enter information on statutory registers including making it available to the public.

We will only disclose information to other organisations if we have a legal duty to release data to:
prevent or detect fraud
prevent or detect crime
protect public funds
Data retention
We only keep your data for as long as necessary.

We keep the personal information you provide for six years after
adoption of our Local Plan
we have agreed ant planning policy documents

After this time, we destroy your information in a secure way.
