contacting you in relation to these matters
The data we collect also forms part of the statutory record of burials and cremations in the Braintree District. We have a statutory duty to provide this information. - Lawful basis for processing personal data

the Local Authorities Cemeteries Order 1977
the Cremation (England & Wales) Regulations 2017

We keep your personal information on a secure database that only officers in our Cemeteries team can access. To deliver our services we may share your personal information with: other departments within the Council funeral directors crematoriums We will only disclose information to other organisations if we have a legal duty to release data to: prevent or detect fraud prevent or detect crime protect public funds

We keep the personal information you provide for cremation memorials for as long as the memorial is active.
After this time, we destroy your information in a secure way.
We keep data for an indefinite period for applications for:
cremation
grave ownership
grave memorial
transfer of grave ownership
interment of ashes
