Area summary

The Finchingfield Conservation Area was designated on 2 October 1969.

On the 9 June 2009 an amendment was made to;

  • Include the south area of water meadows from Vicarage Road to the public footpath to rear of Hops Grounds;
  • Include the fields to the north of Valley View and gardens to the rear of The Causeway;
  • Include the fields to the north of the Fox Inn;
  • Include Great Biggins Farm and associated buildings;
  • Include Great Wincey Farm and field to the east;

The following areas were removed from the Conservation Area:

  • The Chase, Mole End, Hill View and Molen – Brent Hall Road, Winsey Chase and adjacent Police House.
