It is necessary for the Council to collect, store, use and process your personal information to enable us to send you email communications about the Local Plan virtual webinar and to enable you to access the webinar online.
If you wish to be kept up to date about the Local Plan process and future consultation events, we will need to collect, store, use and process your information to do that. - Categories of personal data

We will collect and process the following information about you when you register interest in the virtual webinar:
• Name (required)
• Email address (required)
• Your connection to the Local Plan
• How you heard about the event
• Any questions you’d like the Council to answer in the webinar

The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to explain how and for what purposes we process your personal data. It applies to personal data that is processed electronically and on paper.
Braintree District Council is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We need to collect your personal data so that we can communicate with you about the virtual webinar which you have indicated you are interested in attending. - Lawful basis for processing personal data
- Consent: the individual gives clear consent for the Council to process their personal data to enable access to the webinar, and to communicate with them on the Local Plan process.
- Providing accurate information
- We need to hold accurate and up to date information about you so that we can deliver appropriate services. If any of your details change, you need to tell us as soon as possible so that we can update your records by emailing planningpolicy@braintree.gov.uk.
- Sharing information

The information will be collected through Microsoft Teams, which is subject to their own terms and conditions and privacy policy. The information is being processed on the Council’s behalf, and will be received by the Council.
We will not share the personal information provided with any other third parties. Summary reports or grouped data, in which individuals cannot be personally identified, are used to inform decision-making or in published reports.
- Data retention
- We will keep your data to communicate with you until the end of the Council’s Local Plan public consultation in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. If at any time you withdraw consent from our communications, your data will be deleted.
- Your rights

Your personal information will be processed only on the basis of your explicit consent and you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise this right or any of your other rights including accessing the information, correcting or removing your information, please contact the Data Protection Officer at dpo@braintree.gov.uk
