Notice of Election of District Councillor for Coggeshall - Elections

Information
  1. An Election is to be held of one District Councillor for Coggeshall.
  2. Forms of nomination for the District Election may be obtained at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB, or elections@braintree.gov.uk.The Returning Officer will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
  3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB (electronic delivery is not permitted) by appointment only on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4pm on Friday, 6 February 2026. Appointments can be made by email to elections@braintree.gov.uk.
  4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 5 March 2026.
  5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB by 5pm on Wednesday 18 February 2026.
  6. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB by 5pm on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
  7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that physical incapacity occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB by 5pm on Thursday 5 March 2026.
